Thanks for taking time out to have a look round the Performance Ford site!
If you’re an avid reader of the mag you’ll probably know I’ve been scribing away for over two years now helping to bring you some of the most memorable cars and features that have blown us, and, from the feedback we get, you as well, completely away. If you’re new to it all, here’s a little background info for you.
Being born and raised in Essex means that liking any other marque than the ‘Blue Oval’ is technically not permitted! Thankfully, it’s through choice that the love of Ford’s finest has brought me to the position I’m in, and I’m honoured to be the Editor bringing you the best feature cars from around the world, hands-on unbiased technical features, the latest products to hit the market and a whole lot more for your monthly enjoyment.
Unsurprisingly, my personal collection of cars has always included a model from the Ford range starting off with a Mk3 Escort, before fast becoming a Fiesta freak… I’m on to my third XR2! Although the latest incarnation is by far the wildest to cope with my love of track days. Everyday duties are now taken care of by my Zinc yellow Focus which has been outstanding as a workhorse, unsurprising why Ford sold so many then!
My real passion though comes from seeing the crazy cars you guys ’n’ gals are constantly producing with things like our annual thrash revealing just how fast performance is improving year on year. With several well-known Fords recently hitting 60mph in under 3 seconds, a Sierra hitting speeds in excess of 200mph and FWD cars finally catching up with the other scenes, there are plenty of exciting times ahead and you can count on us to bring them to you, in true PF style!

If you are a regular reader of the magazine, welcome to our new and improved online section on the magazine. If you’ve stumbled across this page by accident and don’t have a clue who we are then get yourself down to the newsagent and see what you’re missing!
Both Dave and myself have been working away for a good couple of years now to help bring to you the biggest and best the Ford scene has to offer, and now with our new staff writer Simon on board we reckon things are going to get even better!
The reason we love putting together the best Ford mag around every month is that we’re just like you! We’re all modified car, and more specificaly modified Ford enthusiasts. We’ve all had involvement with Fords, the modified Ford scene, shows and club events for years, so we know what you, the reader wants – because a few years ago, we were where you were, eagerly awaiting the mag plonking on the doormat.
I’ve loved Fords since before i could even drive, when i was 14/15 my dream car was a Moonstone Three-door Sierra Cosworth, car which i managed to finally get my hands on when I was just 19. My current weapon of choice is a stripped out Series Two RS Turbo, a car which is causing much controversy in the Ford world, due to our different approach to tuning it, but we hope it’s helping to push things further and give people a different look at how things can be done. To follow the progress of the car make sure you get the mag every month and check out our Team PF project car pages.
Right, we’re off to carry on putting together the best Ford mag in the world, so make sure you keep reading it.

Simon Hughes - Staff Writer
Hi, I've just started on the mag and so far I'm loving it! Although Nick and Dave assure me it soon wears off lol!! Like Dave, I'm an Essex lad born and bred, so to risk being mad on any marque other than Ford risked being thrown out of the house and people pointing and muttering to each other in the street. Most of my mates say my blood is blue and that you will find "Property of Ford Motor Company" stamped in to my DNA. So yes, I'm 100% Ford crazy and thats the way its staying. I'm 24 and have been in to cars since I could walk.
I love getting my hands dirty and getting stuck in fixing, repairing or upgrading my latest ride. I did a fair bit of restoration on my first car, a Mk 5 Escort which helped me gain a good mechanical knowledge. Plus I've been able to draw on knowledge from my dad who's been an engineer with Ford for some 36 years.
I've been a keen FFOC (Ford Focus Owners Club) member for a few years now and have been arranging meets and helping to organise events more or less since I joined. I think Dave noticed my enthusiasm at the shows so when I applied for the job here at PF towers he was glad to see my cv on his desk, and the rest as they say, is history!
Surprisingly I was once a Ford puritone, I wanted nothing more than to keep my car shiney and mint through-out, but this all changed once I got a taste for modding, now the thought of having a standard car is just horrible! My current car is far from standard and its staying that way, I love it! But what gives me the biggest buzz, more than anything else though is getting out there and giving the car some stick, open road, foot on the deck gear after, gear, hearing that awesome noise from a tuned motor. No drug could ever come close! I love racing and am partial to a spot of drag racing, although I'm starting to be swayed towards track days (Damn you Nick and Dave!), so you may well see me out having it large at the track here and there.
Seeing different peoples cars is really cool, seeing one person's take on how something should be done and seeing how someone else thinks its hould be done is brilliant, 'cos no two people think alike. So I'm really looking forward to being on the mag during the coming show season.

O’Neill - Ad Manager
I love working with the Performance Ford boys so much
that I like to look my best for them by having myself
sprayed in high-build primer tan! My range of colour coordinated
outfits would amaze even the campest of wardrobe worshippers
and my innate ability to phone at the most inconvenient
of times is second to none. My gift of the gab allows
me to fill Performance Ford with only the highest quality
adverts, and when I tell you to advertise it’s wise
for you to do so - not that I have a temper on me or anything!
